MBSR Program

Steven Hick is currently not offering the program in Ottawa. Other affiliates trained by MBSR Ottawa are offering the following courses:

Course: MBSR 8 week program

Instructors: Kathy Nathan, PhD & Jennifer Innes, MSc

Dates: Tuesdays from May 8-June 19, 2018, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at St. George’s Parish, 415 Piccadilly Avenue, Ottawa.

Day-long retreat, Saturday, June 9th from 9:30-3:30 a.m. at Carleton Memorial United church, 740 Melfa Crescent, Ottawa.

Course: MBSR 8 week program.

Location:  Perth Physiotherapy Clinic, 1861 Rogers Road, Perth, Ontario, K7H 0B2

When:  7:00 – 9:30 pm Tuesday October 2– Tuesday November 20, 2018  plus full day (9am – 4pm) on Saturday November 10, 2018

Cost: $350 – space is limited to 15 participants.

Course: MBSR junior, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teenagers

Instructor: Sonja Roth, M.Ed.

Dates: Course 1 -Thursdays 5:30 to 7:00 pm, April 19/26, May 3/10/17/24/31 June 7

Course 2 – Mondays 5:30 to 7:00 pm

April 23/30 May 7/14/21/28 June 4/11 – Parent information session on April 16 (mandatory).

Sign up – Please email Sonja Roth at mbsrjunior@gmail.com or call 613 797 5607 to sign up. Participation fee is $150. Participants have to commit to attend all 8 sessions and to a 30minute home practice daily, parents/guardians have to participate at the information session.


Course MBSR 8 Week Program

You will learn:

1.  How to reduce and relate to stress;

2.  Methods to improve your ability to concentrate and think clearly;

3.  To deal with difficulties in your life with balance and awareness;

4.  To participate in your own wellness and health;

5.  To cultivate your natural capacity to care for yourself and find greater ease and peace of mind.

$150 deposit with registration.

Final payment of $200 due December 1, 2016.

Before Dec. 1: deposit refunded minus $50 processing fee.

On or after Dec. 1: no refund.

The fee includes all print materials and recordings, the eight sessions and the day-long session.

You will attend group sessions for 2 ½ hours, once a week for 8 weeks.  You receive 31 hours of direct instruction. There is also the expectation that you Practice daily home assignments for 45-60 minutes each day.
